ANPR Cameras for Parking in India

ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) reads a vehicle's plate as it approaches the lane, so the barrier can open before the driver has come to a stop. It is the difference between a queue that moves and a queue that idles.

Indian plates are harder to read than most markets: font and spacing vary, plates get bent, repainted, obscured by bull bars, or handwritten. Systems trained on European plates degrade badly here. Recognition has to be tuned for IND formats, and the lane has to keep working for the vehicles it cannot read.

Specification

  • Recognition accuracy tuned for IND plate formats
  • IR illumination for zero-light operation
  • Whitelist / blacklist enforcement at the edge
  • Entry and exit pairing for stay-duration billing

Where it's deployed

  • Corporate campuses and IT parks
  • Shopping malls and retail
  • Gated residential societies
  • Hospitals
  • Hotels
  • Airports and transit hubs

ANPR Camera — common questions.

The questions buyers actually ask us. Ask them of every vendor who quotes you — the answers separate integrators from box-sellers.

Ask us something else
Cost depends far more on the lane than the camera. A single-lane installation with one camera, mounting, cabling and commissioning sits in a very different bracket to a multi-lane deck with civil work. Anyone quoting a price before seeing the site is quoting the hardware, not the working system. We survey first, then quote.
Ask any vendor two questions: their recognition rate, and what the lane does with the misses. At 98% on 5,000 vehicles a day that is 100 stopped cars. Our lanes fall through to RFID, then ticket, then a logged manual override — the driver meets a slower lane, never a stopped one.
Yes, with IR illumination for zero-light conditions and housings rated for Indian monsoon. Headlight glare at night is the harder problem than darkness, and is handled by the camera's exposure control rather than more light.
Usually. We audit what is already installed and keep whatever is serviceable — there is rarely a reason to replace a working barrier. What matters is the controller interface your current equipment exposes, which we confirm during the survey.

Rarely deployed alone.
